If you experience jaw pain, clicking or popping in your jaw, headaches, or difficulty with chewing and everyday activities, physical therapy can help address the underlying causes of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD).

At The Wellness Den, our physical therapists specialize in treating TMD through a combination of hands-on manual therapy, targeted exercises, posture and movement correction, and patient education. Our personalized treatment plans are designed to restore healthy jaw mechanics, improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and decrease pain so you can return to your daily activities with confidence.

Many individuals with TMJ pain benefit from conservative care, including physical therapy, which can help reduce symptoms, improve jaw function, and minimize the frequency and intensity of flare-ups. Our goal is to provide a non-invasive approach that addresses both the jaw and the surrounding muscles, joints, and movement patterns contributing to your symptoms.

Common TMD Symptoms We Treat:

• Jaw pain or tenderness

• Teeth grinding (bruxism)

• Jaw clenching

• Headaches and facial pain

• Difficulty opening or closing the mouth

• Jaw clicking, popping, or locking

• Neck tension associated with jaw dysfunction

• Pain with chewing or speaking

Whether your symptoms are related to stress, muscle tension, injury, posture, or changes in jaw mechanics, our team can help you develop strategies to improve comfort, movement, and overall quality of life.

Living with hypermobility or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) can make everyday movement challenging. Joint instability, frequent injuries, chronic pain, fatigue, muscle weakness, and difficulty returning to exercise are common concerns. At The Wellness Den, our physical therapists provide individualized, evidence-based care to help you move with greater confidence, stability, and control.

Because every person with hypermobility experiences symptoms differently, we take a personalized approach to treatment. Our team performs a comprehensive evaluation to understand your unique movement patterns, areas of instability, strength deficits, and functional goals. We then develop a customized treatment plan focused on improving joint stability, enhancing body awareness, building strength, and reducing the risk of injury.
